I keep a fairly clean house. Now don't get me wrong, between the kids, husband, dog, and near miss flooding episodes, things can get a bit messy. Never really dirty. That being said, my rationalizations ending, I have a little story to tell.
This morning I woke to my normal bowl of raisin bran. It's my favorite and I could honestly live off of the stuff. I know, I'm weird. Today was different though. I opened the box, poured a bowl, ate a couple of pieces from the top, and poured the milk. Then, I noticed one of the raisins moving frantically to get away from the milk flood that had invaded his home.
There it was, my many eyed, many legged, new black furry friend. He was looking at me with complete disdain at the thought that I might have eaten him. I'm not sure if he got soggy in milk but I do know for sure that I screamed and jumped about 10 feet from my bowl. This is quite an accomplishment considering my kitchen only has a space of about 6 feet width in this particular location.
My husband came barreling down the stairs with a "what's wrong!" obviously expecting to find one side of the house torn open and King Kong sitting at the top of the pine tree's with me in hand. I answered SPIDER in my cereal. He then proceeded to do the man thing and take the bowl to the sink while looking at me with an air of judgement and masculinity all at the same time.
Thankfully I was not alone when this happened or I would have had to resort to things like sledge hammers and new Fiestaware. With that, I have decided to market a new brand of cereal. It will be called Spider Bran. Some will compare it to Count Chocula and others to Urkle o's. Just subtract the sugar and add good ol fiber. Bats like it too!

That was a very good post, and I thought it might be a small bug but a spider? Don't feel bad, I had white rice I was going to make the other day and started to pour in colader to rinse and lo and behold, all kinds of little moths?? Go figure! It wasn't that old and It was in a jar with a tight lid. I threw it way and asked God to forgive me for wasting food. I guess I could have just rinsed it and used it, but my husband wouldn't have that. I'll just be more careful to buy GOOD rice. You really are scared of spiders? What about mice? hehehehe
OH my goodness. My worst ever was finding a dead lizard ON MY PILLOW, but at least he was dead. I'm glad you survived Spider Bran.
OK, that's just nasty. *shudder*
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

eeeeek!!!
Gross! If it's any comfort I've heard that spiders like to hang out in clean houses...
What is going on? Everywhere I turn there is either a spider or a story about a spider. Is it some kind of plot?
Good thing you didn't eat him.....ewwww
At least it wasn't those little bugs that get in flour. I once had to throw out everything that wasn't in a can in my pantry! Thank you organic health food store!
